Structural Materials Laboratory

The Structural Materials Laboratory operates in a total area of 1000 m2 within the Department of Civil Engineering. It provides research and education services to students and academics. The laboratory offers opportunities for practical applications in the fields of Material Science, Structural Materials, and Advanced Concrete Technologies for undergraduate courses. Additionally, it provides a comprehensive laboratory infrastructure for researchers at the postgraduate level. In this context, the Structural Materials Laboratory hosts many research projects conducted by academics, including those with student participation.


The laboratory conducts research on topics such as the internal structure and properties of materials, historical building material studies, concrete production techniques and additives, the use of industrial waste in concrete technology, and the durability, sustainability, and service life of structural elements.
