Accreditation

Educational Objectives 

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) define the professional goals expected to be achieved by our undergraduate program graduates within 3-5 years after graduation. The Program Educational Objectives of our department are:

  • PEO1. Graduates who actively participate in professional organizations and activities.
  • PEO2. Graduates who pursue postgraduate education at domestic or international universities.
  • PEO3. Graduates who work in managerial or implementation positions in national and international private sector or public organizations.
  • PEO4. Graduates who work as academics in state or foundation universities
     

1.Knowledge and Understanding
1.1Sufficient knowledge in subjects like mathematics and natural sciences.
1.2 Sufficient knowledge in specific engineering disciplines.
1.3 Ability to use theoretical and applied knowledge in complex engineering problems.

2. Engineering Problem Solving:
2.1 Ability to identify, define, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems.
2.2 Ability to choose and apply appropriate analysis and modeling methods for this purpose.

3. Design and Development of Solutions:
3.1 Ability to design a complex system, process, device, or product under realistic constraints and conditions to meet specific requirements.
3.2 Application of modern design methods for this purpose.

4. Modern Tools Usage:
4.1 Ability to develop, select, and use modern techniques and tools necessary for the analysis and solution of complex problems encountered in engineering practices.
4.2 Effective use of information technologies.

5. Experimentation and Data Analysis:
5.1 Ability to design experiments to investigate complex engineering problems or specific research topics in the discipline.
5.2 Ability to conduct experiments to examine complex engineering problems or specific research topics in the discipline.
5.3 Ability to collect data for the investigation of complex engineering problems or specific research topics in the discipline.
5.4 Ability to analyze and interpret experimental results for complex engineering problems or specific research topics in the discipline.


6. Individual and Teamwork:
6.1 Ability to work individually within the discipline.
6.2 Effective teamwork within the discipline.
6.3 Effective teamwork in multidisciplinary teams.


7. Communication Skills:
7.1 Effective communication and presentation skills both orally and in writing.
7.2 Proficiency in at least one foreign language.
7.3 Ability to write effective reports and understand written reports.
7.4 Ability to prepare design and production reports.
7.5 Ability to give and receive clear instructions.


8. Lifelong Learning:
8.1 Awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning.
8.2 Ability to access information, follow developments in science and technology, and continuously renew oneself.


9. Ethical Awareness:
9.1 Adherence to ethical principles, professional and ethical responsibility.
9.2 Knowledge of standards used in engineering practices.


10. Business Practices Knowledge:
10.1 Knowledge about business practices such as project management, risk management, and change management.
10.2 Awareness of entrepreneurship and innovation.
10.3 Knowledge about sustainable development.


11. Social and Global Awareness:
11.1 Knowledge about the global and societal impacts of engineering practices on health, environment, and safety, and current issues reflected in the engineering field.
11.2 Awareness of the legal consequences of engineering solutions.
 

Yıldız Technical University's Civil Engineering Department 1st Undergraduate Program was first accredited on May 1, 2007. The accreditation of our department by MÜDEK and ENAEE has been extended until September 30, 2028.

As of May 1, 2022, until September 30, 2024, Yıldız Technical University's Civil Engineering (English) Department 1st Undergraduate Program has been accredited by MÜDEK and ENAEE.
