Erasmus Activities?

Student Mobility (SM): Under the ERASMUS program, with the exception of first-year higher education students, students—including doctoral candidates—are provided with educational support for 3–12 months at a university or higher education institution in another participating country, within the framework of bilateral agreements and arrangements between universities, to study at a university or higher education institution in another participating country for 3–12 months, with financial support (Erasmus grant) provided. (300–500 €)

Students who are eligible to participate in the program and become Erasmus students are issued an Erasmus Student Declaration, which outlines their rights and responsibilities using this standard text.

A person may be an Erasmus student only once in their lifetime.

One of the universities involved in the student exchange must be located in an EU member country.

The courses the student takes at the host institution must be equivalent to or count toward the courses they could take at their home institution.

Students can have the grades they earn at the host institution transferred to their home institution and continue their studies without losing a semester.

Faculty Exchange (SM): Faculty members may go on a visiting assignment for a period ranging from 1 week (eight class hours) to 6 months and may receive financial support ranging from 800 to 2,000 €. In this way: To provide faculty members with opportunities for professional and personal development; To encourage universities to expand the range and content of the courses they offer; enable students to benefit from the expertise of academic staff from different countries; strengthen ties between institutions in different countries; and encourage the exchange of expertise and experience in pedagogical methods.

Intensive Programs (TP): These are short-term projects that must incorporate a European dimension and address a topic not commonly covered. They must be carried out by students and faculty members from at least three countries and last between 10 days and 3 months. Financial support may be provided for one, two, or three consecutive years, provided that the participating group and/or the subject area (field) differ each year.

Curriculum Development Programs (CD): In these projects, at least three higher education institutions from different countries—at least one of which is an EU member state—pool their resources to develop an academic program, a module, or a master’s program. These projects can be carried out in all academic fields, and financial support for them is available for a maximum of three years. Participation in these projects is limited to academics.

Academic Expertise Networks (TNP): Through networks developed in specific fields, these initiatives aim to foster development in academic or administrative areas; support innovations in teaching methods and materials; assist in the development of joint programs and specialized courses across Europe; disseminate the results of topic-focused, Europe-themed studies across relevant disciplines; and assist in identifying quality criteria and quality assessment methods for projects, among other objectives.
